From a single property to Hawaii's premier vacation rental company
Oahu Island Homes was born from a simple belief: that every visitor to Hawaii deserves an authentic, luxurious experience that captures the true spirit of aloha—and that local expertise makes all the difference.
In 2017, founder Avery Chern began managing his family's vacation rental properties and quickly saw an opportunity to bring professional, finance-driven management to Hawaii's rental market while preserving the authentic hospitality that only a true local can provide.
Today, we manage over 30 premium properties across Oahu, from beachfront condos in Waikiki to peaceful retreats on the North Shore. As a locally born and raised company, we ensure every property reflects the quality and aloha spirit that Hawaii is known for.

Born and raised on Oahu, Avery brings a lifelong connection to Hawaii and its culture to every aspect of Oahu Island Homes. A Punahou School graduate with a background in finance, Avery founded the company in 2017 after managing his family's vacation rental properties and recognizing the need for professional, locally-rooted property management that truly understands Hawaiian hospitality. His finance background ensures owners receive maximized returns, while his local roots guarantee guests experience authentic aloha.
